Grading
This course will use the specs grading system. Specs grading avoids points and percentages when marking assignments in an effort to help students focus on the process, the quality of the project, and the learning experience. For each assignment, students are provided with a list of specifications - or "specs" - that are required in order for the assignment to earn credit. These are completion grades.
Because there are no points, and because all grades are completion-based, every specification listed must be fully met in order to receive credit. If one specification is missed, no credit will be given. At all.
This is designed to allow students the freedom to make decisions about what quality work looks like while providing them with parameters that meet the instructor's expectations.
Final grades come from three major categories:
TEAM WEBSITE (25%)
INDIVIDUAL WEBSITE (25%)
CAPSTONE PROJECT (25%)
PARTICIPATION (25%)
A specs grading list will be provided for all four of these categories at the beginning of the course and can be found in the "Printables" section of the course website.
The course will follow University grading guidelines an students will earn grades of A, B, C, D, and F in all four major categories that will be averaged into a final grade.

Academic Integrity
As members of the Clemson University community, we have inherited Thomas Green Clemson’s vision of this institution as a “high seminary of learning.” Fundamental to this vision is a mutual commitment to truthfulness, honor, and responsibility, without which we cannot earn the trust and respect of others. Furthermore, we recognize that academic dishonesty detracts from the value of a Clemson degree. Therefore, we shall not tolerate lying, cheating, or stealing in any form.
